I've seen Star Wars about forty times now and that number seems to grow gradually every month. I expect that by the time I retire I will have seen it well over a thousand times. This is because Star Wars is simply the best film of all time. Better than Titanic,(obviously), better than The Godfather, better than Casablanca. And why? Because it contains everything needed for a great story. There's the obvious good guys and bad guys, the maiden in distress, the young rookie, the experienced old-timer, a clear goal, great characterisation, top of the range special effects, and some truly appaling dialogue.

Put all this together and you have 'IT'. You have Star Wars.

Anyway, there are plenty of websites out there that cover an extensive range of Star Wars facts and information, so i wanted to take a lighthearted look at some things that i'm interested in within the Star Wars universe.

As most of you are probably aware, Star Wars has been kept going (as if it needed to be) over the past decade by a variety of books and graphic novels that have been based upon events within the Star Wars universe. Most of the books are in trilogy formats, with one author responsible for each trilogy.

Within these novels, a wealth of new characters and worlds have been created, to provide an insight into other areas of the Star Wars universe.

My personal favourites are the X-Wing series, which includes the exploits of Rogue Squadron(written by Michael A. Stackpole), and Wraith Squadron (written by Aaron Allston).

Of course, to write a 300-page novel requires a lot more information than was available within the original films, so a lot of artistic liberties have been taken. The joy of this, though, is that characters who appear only briefly in the film are fleshed out and become important figures for the New Republic.

And this gives people like me an excuse to put together web pages based on this information.

However, rather than go down the normal route of writing boigraphies etc, I thought it would cool to concentrate on characters that haven't lived long, bring some of my own and other people's theories into play about Star Wars, and basically do different stuff.

I've also added some info on the films, not much as it has all been covered elsewhere in much better detail than I can be arsed to write out, but hopefully some cool or funny stuff you may not have picked up on.
